Why IT fails and what to do about it
According to Gartner and other reporting agencies over the last 10 years 50% of IT initiatives failed. We know that often the easiest way to pick up a new client is when a competitor fails. New technology is the way IT can provide competitive advantage. Yet because of past failures, our clients are hesitant to try new technologies. In this presentation we discuss basic methodologies that will improve success rates on IT deployment from a national average of 50% failure rate to over 95% success rates. These are methodologies that are easy to explain and our customers understand and will be on board with. With the first success, clients soon become excited about new changes and push for new IT initiatives.
This is especially important with the cloud and cloud technologies. Traditional break fix and managed services business models are disappearing as an income source. During the presentation we’ll demonstrate new business models that add new income streams. These income streams will make the present client relationships much more valuable to your clients. At the same time bring your company or department more IT project opportunities than ever before.
Bio:
James Murray is a partner with Business Cloud Services and has been in IT for over 22 years. He has worked with companies and organizations like The City of Seattle, Microsoft, Washington Mutual, Avanade, Accenture, Smith Barney, Disney, AT&T and literally 100’s of small businesses in the Puget Sound and on the West coast. His expertise is in consulting, designing and deploying business technology. His education includes a BS in information systems and an MBA. In addition he has Novel certifications, multiple MCSE certifications and has been a Microsoft Certified Trainer. As a trainer he has taught classes at Bellevue College, Green River College, Wenatchee Valley College and ITT where he has trained technical experts on networking and infrastructure design.
His technical expertise includes: Network infrastructure, CRM design strategies, Small manufacturing technologies, Medical technologies, organizational design of IT departments and integration of diverse 3rd party IT teams.
Presently James focuses on designing, deploying and training business management teams and IT organizations to increase profitability through consistent and ongoing deployment of cutting edge technologies within small and mid-size organizations.
His goal is to help the IT professional organizations to re-invent themselves in ways that will allow domestic IT professionals to thrive using onsite and cloud technologies. While at the same time successfully, competing with outsourced IT organizations based outside the US.
